Familiarisation Training
Operators of fork lift trucks are required to have undertaken and passed a course of basic training, as described in ACOP L117 of the Health and Safety Commissions Approved Code of Practice, and on return to their site of work Familiarisation Training has to take place to familiarise the trainee with their companies own fork lift truck, as trucks are of different designs.
The aim of the course is to refresh job safety and knowledge and provide corrective and remedial tests to operators who have had previous training but require a refresher course.
The course covers the following subjects
- Introduction to the course
- Fork truck stability and operation safety code
- Practical refresher training
- Testing
- Course Closure
The duration of the Familiarisation Training Course varies from one day to five days, depending on the individuals experience. All course material and safety documentation will be provided by our Instructor.
- A maximum of three delegates can be trained per instructor
- Each day is a comprehensive eight hours
Theoretical instruction requires a suitable, quiet room. Practical instruction requires warehouse/yard area. A safe and fully operational truck is required.
